Thought I would take a little pause from the Switzerland posts and show you a little bit of what’s going on here in Budapest.
A few weeks ago, Nina and I ice skated on the Városligeti Műjégpálya or the City Park Ice Rink. This is actually the biggest ice rink in Europe and also one of the oldest as it first opened in 1870. It’s located by two iconic Budapest tourist sights: Heroes’ Square and the Vajdahunyad Castle.
Us being hockey players, it was a must that we skated on this historic European ice at least once. So we went on a free day when the weather was nice and enjoyed a hour of skating.
Now we can say we’ve done it! Not a bad view, sure is better than the puck beaten boards that I used to skate around for hours a day during work 🙂 Back when I worked at an ice rink, oh that seems like so long ago. Crazy how the time flies!
Speaking of work, I’m excited to be involved in a new free-lance writing job. The company I am writing for really excites me with all the work they’re producing and it’s a new business, so for me it’s interesting to see something build from the ground up. As well as get to be a part of it from the near beginning! Will post a link once articles start getting published!
More coming soon on the rest of my trip to Switzerland!
